Atkins Landscape Architects are having an exciting start to 2019.

The company’s newly appointed professional head of discipline for landscape architecture and urban design Simon Ward hosted a company conference in Warwick in January attended by more than 60 UK based landscape architects, urban designers and arborists.

Presentations included the company’s diverse range of regional and international projects in locations from London to the Cairngorms. Delegates also debated topics including the company’s digital agenda, marketing strategy and design principles.

Guest speakers included Nigel Dunnett on his style of ‘new nature’ planting and Ian McChesney, who illustrated some of his bespoke artworks. Both Nigel and Ian have worked with Atkins in the past and are currently involved in prospects to deliver future work.

Atkins celebrates 40 years in practice this year and is planning a series of talks and other events.

Simon will be part of a panel of landscape architects taking questions from students at Sheffield University careers fair on 27 February.

Atkins’ landscape team is based across eight regional hub offices from Epsom to Glasgow and Bristol. In January, the company’s London based moved to the NOVA location in Victoria, now SNC-Lavalin’s European headquarters.
